all the steps to have the procedure completed. First there is
the preparation of the tooth, then an impression, and while your
permanent crown is being made, a temporary restoration is placed
in your mouth. After a two-week waiting period, you go to the
dentist again for the installation of the permanent crown.
Sometimes it does not fit properly and is sent back to the lab,
which results in more waiting time for you. And then there is
one more visit to the dentist.

The entire procedure with CEREC takes about an hour. There are

With a high-tech camera, a picture is taken and immediately
ready for viewing on a computer screen. We initially design the

What Causes Tooth Enamel Damage?
Another cause of tooth enamel damage is bruxism -- or teeth-grinding. Over time, the constant clenching and friction can wear down or fracture the enamel. In this slide, teeth grinding has ground down the upper and lower front teeth.
Bruxism is often worst when you sleep -- that's when you can't control it. Reducing stress may help. Some people wear a special mouth guard to bed.

No More Mercury or Metal!
You may be familiar with the silver-mercury amalgam that is the
filling material frequently used for dental restorations.
Although it works reasonably well for a filling, it does not
form a tight bond with teeth, which could result in eventual
decay. Patients do not like how noticeable these fillings are,
as they contrast highly with the shade of their teeth. Today, we
use only composite fillings that match the shade of the tooth,
contain no metal, and bond very tightly with the tooth
structure. It adds to the strength of the tooth and lessens the
chance of decay.
